Overall Vision Originality
Technique ImpactThis reminds me strongly of Aslan in The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. I like the reflection of the moon off the lion's back, and the strong light on the face and muzzle. I think that the reflection on the paw and the left side of the mountain near the lion's chin wouldn't be lit up by the moon, the paw due to the Lion's body obstructing the moon, the mountains because they are lit up on the side opposite from the moon. At least if you judge its position based on the reflection on the back of the lion. But overall I really like this painting, it's entrancing. Perhaps it's the light in the lion's eyes that really grabs the attention.
